A downloadable game session

I'm a GM with a couple decades of experience with a wide variety of systems. I consider myself a player-friendly and non-adversarial GM and I like to help players get the most from their characters and the combined stories we tell. I pride myself on consensual and comfortable gaming and I use a number of safety tools in my games.

I'm not a voice actor, but I understand what makes characters interesting and engaging. My style is player-focused, I like asking you questions and building the world around your answers. I enjoy a good laugh, but if a serious (and epic) tone is desired/appropriate I love to lean into those tense and dramatic moments. I adore wonder and strive to convey that sense in my games using vivid descriptions of environments and encounters.

If you need a GM, and you're interested in the systems and adventures I am offering below, please reach out to me at the following email address: itstimzee@gmail.com.

I am based in the Canadian Eastern Time Zone (UTC-5/-4). I am available to run sessions during evenings. I mostly use the Roll20 virtual table-top in tandem with Discord (for voice chat).

Please do not purchase anything from this page unless we have communicated and discussed some sort of plans for a session.

All the packages listed below include a free asynchronous Session Zero for introductions, character building and safety tool discussion.

I do not play with fascists, racists or bigots. If this is you, do not contact me. If my position annoys or confuses you , don't contact me.

I reserve the right to cancel games and return payment for any reason I wish.

TESTIMONIALS:

"Tim was a great game master. Even in a one-shot, he really developed out the world, was responsive to people's character choices, and made sure that everyone at the table really had moments to shine. Tim managed to create perfect mix of threatening combat and the shenanigans that make roleplaying so fun." - Rachel (Cairn)

"I had no experience playing Dungeons & Dragons before Tim invited me to play a game this past January. I was worried my inexperience would keep me from understanding and enjoying the game, but with Tim as the Dungeon Master, my worry was quelled immediately. Tim guided me throughout the entire experience, which was fun from start to finish. The story was well-written, easy to follow and engaging. The character I played (created by Tim, by the way) was intriguing, and as I continued to play, I learned so much about her purpose and abilities in the game. My group and I were completely invested, and by the time we completed the game, we were already trying to schedule when we could meet again for the next one. Overall, my first experience with Dungeons & Dragons was great, and it is without a doubt because of the guidance, leadership and creativity of Tim." - Kristen (5E)

"I played my first game of Mausritter, a game I love, with Tim, online. It was loads of fun. He always made sure I was understanding things (since English is not my first language) and set a relaxed mood that made me confident enough to speak without being embarrassed. Also, the game kept a good balance of being fun and laughs, without ever losing rhythm and breaking immersion too much, something I struggle with when I GM. Dearly recommended!" - Emmanuel (Mausritter)

"Tim led a fantastic game of Cairn with me and a number of folks I met for the first time. It can be a challenge to help a new party feel acclimated, but Tim helped the party (both socially and in-game) with skill and grace." - Josh (Cairn)

"Tim was a fantastic GM for our group of OSR players. Tim was very knowledgeable of both the rules-as-written and also had a keen feel for the spirit of the game. Tim was a fair/impartial judge, was respectful of everyone, got everyone involved, and ensured that everyone was comfortable with the themes (and was prepared to move away from any subject anyone was uncomfortable with). Tim also has great comnand of the technical tools needed for running games online (roll20, owlbear, fog, icons, etc). Strong recommend for Tim: a solid GM and a great guy." -  Dave (Mausritter/Cairn)

"I played in a one-shot of Cairn run by Tim. I was quite impressed by how well he held the adventure in his head, and provided a steady bedrock for all of our shenanigans. Well prepared, but able to roll with the punches. What more could want from a GM?" -Matthew (Cairn/Ryuutama)

"There are 3 tools a competent GM must wield: immersion, rules knowledge, and panache. Some favor one or two of the three, but Tim brandishes all 3 with equal aplomb. I'd be thrilled to join another game of his any time!" - Alexander (Cairn)

"I played my first Mausritter game with Tim via discord and roll20. He ran a very fun, laid back game that fully encouraged all the zany hijinks our group of mice threw at him. Tim runs a great game that I'm very happy I was a part of!" - Derrick (Mausritter)

I fairly recently got to play Dungeons & Dragons with Tim via Roll20 and was absolutely impressed by how well he was able to bring us into the world of his campaign. Our group was made up of folks who eitherdid not know each other on any level and/or had little to no experience with RPGing. These elements together typically make for a game that is more work than play with most DMs but Tim was not onlyable to simplify it for all of us so that we could fol low along easily but make it distinct and hugelyenjoyable from start to finish. He played a long well with our unique respective characters and neverdiscouraged things that may have deviated from the intended pathways of the game. Tim is a great DM and would be a joy to have run anyone’s game. I highly recommend him for your campaigns." - Wes (5E)
